Snowman

Our first project for 3D Animation was our snowman. We learned the different tools of Layout and Modeler. The strongest technical aspect of my work would probably be the arms of my snowman because of the way I modeled them and the texture I used. I tried to find a texture that best resembled wood, I really like how the arms came out. The technical aspect of my work that could've been improved on was the lighting. I tried to get the light to shine on my snowman's face more since it was completely shaded at first. Although now the snow on the ground is dark and doesn't really match the background.

The easiest part of this art activity would probably be finding the different textures to use on my snowman. I tried to find different textures that best resembled all the parts of my snowman. Unfortunately, some of the textures I used are a little hard to make out what it is. The difficult part of this art activity would maybe be making the snowman's different parts. Such as the carrot and the arms, I tried to make them look as realistic as possible. I didn't want them to look off so I had to undo and remake a few of the objects on here.

The objective of this art activity was to become familiar with the different tools on Modeler and Layout, but at the same time make a snowman. I demonstrated this by using the different tools on the parts of the snowman to portray that I know how to use them. If I could do this art activity again, I would probably change a few of the textures on the snowman to make them look more realistic and noticeable. Overall I really enjoyed this art project and am looking forward to the upcoming projects this year.

  1. Wish more texture was created on the snowman but the background works really well. I would suggest adding a pink tint to your light next time to cast that color on your image.
